Meet the team

The humans and hounds behind the Den.

Daxie Den is family-run in every sense. Different faces, different strengths and one shared passion that runs deep: dachshunds.

Sarah

Sarah has grown up around dogs, from Labradors and Akitas to Cockers and Westies, and began junior handling at 12. Ruby started the dachshund obsession and the little idea that became Daxie Den. Sarah manages the diary, gets to know every family and notices the tiny details that help each dog feel safe and understood. She is also the one behind many of our favourite photos — treats in hand, calling names and lining up little legs until everyone looks at the camera. No one else quite gets the sausages to pose the same way.

Jamie

A British Army veteran and ultra-marathon fan, Jamie has plenty of energy for long walks — but playing with the dogs is his favourite part. He is happiest on the floor in the middle of the chaos, starting games, entertaining the lively ones and winning over even the guests who take a little longer to trust. Once playtime is over, he has an equally impressive talent for sofa cuddles. Jamie has been part of Daxie Den from the beginning and is a firm favourite with many of our boy guests.

Social boarder & solo specialist

Katie

Katie first joined Daxie Den to help with our social boarders and soon became part of the everyday sausage madness. As demand grew, she opened her own home so we could welcome more families and offer dedicated solo boarding. Canine first-aid trained, she loves nothing more than a snuggly dachshund tucked into her dressing gown. Her elderly, dog-friendly cat shares the home too, so we’ll always make sure each guest is comfortable around cats.
