Dedicated to dachshunds

A little idea that grew with love.

Daxie Den did not begin as a grand business plan. It began at home, with our own girls and friends trusting us with theirs. Our passion for dachshunds still sits behind every decision we make.

How the Den began

Friends, family and a lot of little legs.

Sarah and Jamie began by looking after friends’ dachshunds alongside Ruby, Saffi and Emmi. We loved seeing each dog settle, watching their confidence grow and learning all the tiny things that made them feel at home.

Those friends told other friends and Daxie Den grew organically. Sarah’s cousin Katie joined us as the business expanded, followed by her husband Dan, while their mam — our much-loved Aunty Dax — helps out from time to time. It is a family-run business, but it still feels like the same caring little home it was at the start.

We now run Daxie Den across two council-licensed properties in Washington, so we can care for social sausages as well as dogs who need something quieter and more individual. The values stay the same in both: trust, kindness, safety, enrichment, routine and lots of love.

Cuddles, commotion and absolutely no personal space — just how Jamie likes it.

Honest care

No judgement. No pretending.

We know dogs are not robots. They can be nervous, noisy, worried, stubborn or unsure — especially dachshunds. Please be completely open with us about behaviour, health, routines and previous experiences.

Knowing everything does not automatically mean we will say no. It means we can work out whether we are the right people and, if we are, plan the gentlest approach for your dog. Their wellbeing, our resident dogs and every guest already in our care must come first.
